Spring Service Project - Food Drive

We will collect the food from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, at the Rotary House. It's the perfect place for folks to drive up and drop off their nonperishable food. 

Volunteers outside will put the food in a cart and roll it up to the Rotary House where volunteers inside will organize the food into boxes. 

Our recipient this year is The Share Center  run by Food and Shelter in Norman. The Share Center folks will be on site at the end of the drive to pick up the boxes of food. 

We are asking for at least three (3) volunteers from each club for the following shifts:

8-9 a.m.  Cross Timbers Club

9-10 a.m. Norman Noon Club

10-11 a.m. Newcastle Club

11-noon Legacy Club

noon-1 p.m. Sooner Club 

If you can volunteer that day during our shift or really anytime,  please forward this email to me and Sandra with your phone and email contact information.  Sandra will follow-up with you directly.

Each club is donating $60 so we can purchase boxes in which to pack the donations. 

Each club will help to publicize the effort through club meetings, social media, website and word of mouth. Food and Shelter will join in the communications effort, also. Sandra will send a graphic or two and other content to the clubs to publish on April 22, 29 and May 2. 

We'll have some signs on the main intersections at Berry and Boyd, Boyd and McGee, Boyd and 24th Ave, and onsite. If you have any signs from previous food drives, please let Sandra know; and she can pick them up. Or if anyone likes to make signs, Sandra is happy to contact them!
